One fine day, Winnie-the-Pooh decided to visit his friend Christopher Robin at the top of the forest. Along the way, he composed a cheerful song about the life of a bear. Upon arriving, Pooh found Christopher Robin struggling to put on his big boots, which signaled that an adventure was imminent.

Christopher Robin announced that they were going on an expedition to discover the North Pole. Excited but a bit confused about what the North Pole was, Pooh agreed to gather the rest of their friends. He informed Rabbit, who then told Kanga and Roo, and together they recruited Piglet, Owl, and Eeyore. Rabbit’s numerous friends and relations also joined the expedition.

As the group set off, Pooh made up a song about their journey. They walked through the forest in a long line, with Christopher Robin leading the way. Along the path, they approached a stream that looked dangerous, and Christopher Robin warned everyone to be cautious of a possible ambush. The friends proceeded carefully, with Pooh pondering the meaning of “ambush.”

They decided to rest and eat their provisions by the stream. After their meal, Roo attempted to wash his face but accidentally fell into the water. The swift current carried him downstream, and Kanga became very worried. The friends sprang into action to rescue Roo. While others tried different methods, Pooh found a long pole and, with Kanga’s help, used it to save Roo as he floated by.

Christopher Robin declared that Pooh had discovered the North Pole—the very pole he used to rescue Roo. They planted the pole in the ground and tied a message to it that read:

NORTH POLE

DISCOVERED BY POOH

POOH FOUND IT

Feeling proud of their accomplishment, the group decided the expedition was a success. They all headed home, with Roo excitedly talking about his adventure and Pooh feeling pleased with himself. Back at his house, Pooh celebrated by having a little something to revive himself after the day’s events.
