On a beautiful day after the rain had stopped and the forest was fresh and lively again, Christopher Robin decided to throw a special party. He wanted to celebrate Pooh’s bravery for rescuing Piglet during the flood. He asked Owl to spread the word to all their friends in the Hundred Acre Wood.

Owl first informed Pooh about the party. Pooh was delighted and began to wonder if everyone knew it was a party in his honor. He became a bit anxious, imagining that perhaps no one would remember his heroic deed. This led him to compose a playful song in his head about himself, celebrating his own adventure.

Meanwhile, Owl went to tell Eeyore about the party. Eeyore, being his usual gloomy self, assumed the invitation was a mistake or that he was only included by accident. Despite his doubts, he decided to attend but warned that it might rain.

The next day, Christopher Robin arranged a long table, and all the friends gathered: Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit, Kanga, Roo, Owl, Eeyore, and Rabbit’s many friends and relations. Roo was especially excited since it was his first party. He greeted everyone enthusiastically, causing a bit of chaos when he tried to talk and drink milk at the same time.

As the meal went on, Christopher Robin stood up to make an announcement. He began to speak about the purpose of the party, which was to honor someone special for their actions during the flood. Eeyore mistakenly thought the party was for him and started giving a speech, thanking everyone for recognizing his efforts.

Just then, Christopher Robin found the present he had misplaced and announced that it was for Pooh. “Pass it down to silly old Pooh,” he said. Eeyore realized the party wasn’t for him after all and felt a bit dejected but tried to hide his disappointment.

Pooh opened the gift eagerly. It was a special pencil case filled with pencils marked with initials like “B” for Bear, “HB” for Helping Bear, and “BB” for Brave Bear. There were also colored pencils, a sharpener, an eraser, and a ruler—all neatly arranged in the case. Pooh was overjoyed and thanked everyone warmly.

After the party, as the sun was setting, Pooh and Piglet walked home together in thoughtful silence. Piglet asked Pooh what he said to himself when he first woke up in the morning. Pooh replied, “What’s for breakfast?” Piglet shared that he wondered what exciting thing might happen that day. Pooh agreed that they were essentially thinking the same thing.

Later, Christopher Robin asked what happened next, but no one knew. He then picked up Pooh by the leg and walked toward the door, inviting, “Coming to see me have my bath?” As they left, the familiar sound of Winnie-the-Pooh bumping up the stairs echoed behind them.
