Jürgen Klopp, the former Liverpool manager, has returned to football in a new role as the Global Head of Soccer for Red Bull. After leaving Liverpool last summer following nearly a decade of success, Klopp has taken up a strategic role that will begin on January 1, 2025. This position marks a new chapter in his career, where he will oversee Red Bull’s network of football clubs, including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, and clubs in Brazil and Japan.
In his new role, Klopp will not be involved in the day-to-day operations of the clubs but will focus on supporting the sports directors and helping to develop Red Bull’s global football philosophy. Klopp mentioned that this opportunity would allow him to share his experience and “learn again” without the pressure of managing games every few days. He emphasized that while he does not see himself returning to the sidelines, he is excited about this new challenge and the chance to contribute to football in a different capacity.
The move is seen as a significant change for Klopp, who won several titles with Liverpool, including the Premier League and the Champions League. Now, his goal is to mentor coaches and help scout top talent, bringing his expertise to the next generation of football professionals.
